Since moving away from Highbury (from 1913 to 2006) to Emirates, Arsenal has been giving tough time to all the teams in Premier league and they are at the top level without spending huge amount of money like other top clubs of the World. But for the last 2-3 years Arsenal are starting to spend handsome amount of cash but still no way near what Manchester City, Manchester United or Chelsea were investing.
However entering into the 2017-18 season Arsenal is coming up with a new strategy and Arsenal’s Wage bill is very impressive at £195 million, fifth highest in the Barclays Premier league and that is set to rise with couple of eminent signings both in the summer and January 2018 transfer window. Arsenal signed highly rated French striker Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon for £46 million in summer of 2017 who added a lot of spark in the attack of Gunners.
Arsenal went on to lose Alexis Sanchez with Mkhitaryan coming to Arsenal as part of a swap deal while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also signed for Wenger’s team in January. Details of entire Arsenal squad, contracts and player salaries is given below:
Wage bill of Arsenal has been continuously rising over the last three seasons. In 2014 wage bill was around £166 million which was dramatically increased to £180 million in the next season. 2016 showed further increase in wage bill and it was around £195 million. By the look of Arsenal current form we can expect Arsenal’s wage bill is set to increase considerably in 2018.
Arsenal 2018 Transfers & New Contracts:
Arsenal has a very remarkable history. The club has won 13 league titles, 13 FA cups (A record) and two league cups. The club has won second most top flight matches in the history of English Football. One of their biggest achievement is 38 match unbeaten streak in a season. Arsenal’s wage structure has been very decent since they moved to Emirates from Highbury and this wise tactic has kept them alive in the league without over spending in the expensive market in last years but recently with Premier League TV money allowing English clubs to spend big, Arsenal are forced to hand out impressive contracts to big names in the squad such as MesutOzil and Aaron Ramsay. Although they lost Sanchez in the latest transfer saga but they managed to replace him with Mkhitaryan& Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
- MesutOzil signed an improvised contract to stay with Gunners where he will get a handsome amount of £300,000 every week making him the highest paid player in Arsenal’s entire history.
- Alexis Sanchez has left the club for Manchester United but his replacements Henry Mkhitaryan (£120,000 a week) and Pierre-EmerickAubameyang-Ex Dortmund striker now getting £180,000 a-week combined will be earning what Sanchez wanted for himself. Arsene Wenger is now earning £8 million a year after signing a 2 year contract to remain at the Emirates. Entire list of Arsenal’s squad, contracts and weekly salaries is given below.
